EveryBODY can practice yoga -
regardless of age, body shape or fitness level.
My mission is to develop a practice that is as individual as you are. Come learn yoga with me!
I came to yoga in my late 40's, and at the time I had my own garden design and installation business. I found yoga so beneficial in keeping me limber for those long days working outside. But I also found a grounding within myself at a time of my life that included lots of changes, both physically and mentally. I became more aware of what was happening within my body, mind and spirit. I felt a deeper connection to myself and those around me.
I feel the practice of yoga can be the best gift we give ourselves.
I knew I wanted to share this amazing sense of well-being with others. It was a logical next step to pursue becoming a teacher. I received my yoga teacher training from a truly competent and knowledgeable teacher ~ Paula Tursi from Reflections Yoga (www.reflectionsyoga.com) while in Costa Rica, in the method of yoga called 'slow flow' Vinyasa. I have logged over 1,200 hours of time teaching yoga.
*Vinyasa means "breath-synchronized movement," and Vinyasa yoga is a series of poses that will move you through the power of inhaling and exhaling. My classes focus on the balance of breath, movement and awareness.
In a world driven by deadlines, traffic jams, smartphones and long work days, it becomes more and more difficult to let go and allow for much needed personal time.
In addition to teaching yoga, I enjoy painting, hiking, gardening and travel. You can see some of my paintings atwww.nancyaufiero.com
